Rock And Roll from New York NY
The Sweet Things sling timeless rock n’ roll served up from the streets of the East Village New York. It’s arena aspirations realized by bar band moxie.
The Sweet Things formed in 2015, forging a bond based around The Rolling Stones, Johnny Thunders, Izzy Stradlin, Outlaw Country, The Blues, and a love for 70’s Arena Rock. There wasn’t a game plan—it was just about the music. The guys had been in various punk bands throughout the years prior, and this was a chance to do the music they loved growing up.
Since that fateful session, The Sweet Things have released singles on Lanark Records and Spaghetty Town Records.
Recently The Sweet Things have played one of Jesse Malin's L.A.M.F shows (alongside members of The MC5, The Replacements, Blondie and Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers), released a new single on Spaghetty Town Records, toured the mid west and south, just played a festival in Atlanta, and are being featured in the April edition of Classic Rock Magazine (UK) (as well as being included on an attached comp). Vive Le Rock Magazine (UK) recently referred to us as "NYC’s spiritual heirs to the crown of The Heartbreakers and the alt-country punk of Jason and The Scorchers.”
The Sweet Things are: Dave Tierney (The Sharp Lads), Lorne Behrman (The Dimestore Haloes, L.E.S. Stitches, The Dead Tricks), Sam Hariss (Stiletto), and Darren Fried (Mazard, Tongue). More often than not, The Sweet Things have been joined onstage by Liza Colby and Rob Clores. Liza Colby is an Iggy Pop meets Tina Turner force of nature who fronts her own rock n’ soul powerhouse group, The Liza Colby Sound. While Rob Clores has solidified his name touring and recording with such major outfits as The Black Crowes, Tom Jones, Joan Osbourne, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, and Jesse Malin.
