The Joey Houck Band

With his feet firmly rooted in the blues, Joey Houck brings youthful vigor and excitement to a live show that takes his audiences back to a different place in time. His guitar work evokes Stevie Ray, Hendrix and Santana, and his soulful vocals are reminiscent of artists like the great Johnnie Taylor.
Like Lance Lopez and Ray LaMontagne, Joey is part of a new generation of musicians blending some of the best classic genres of American music. His 2019 album Island Daydream showcases his many influences, including compositions that are very Robin Trower-esque, with deep grooves, earnest lyrics, and catchy rock riffs.
Originally from Kodiak, Alaska, Joey has performed extensively across the United States. In 2019, he relocated to Louisiana, both to work with and learn from the cultural torchbearers in New Orleans, and to establish a home base for his band. Joey currently performs regularly at nightclubs and breweries across the Gulf Coast as well as at New Orleans venues that include Club 30/90, Southport Hall, Santos, the Rivershack, Midnight Revival, Whiskey Bayou, the Drifter, and Dean Zucchero’s Blues in the Bierhalle series. You can also catch Joey on the Blues Trail this summer— on the Mississippi Gulf Coast at the Shed, the Juke Joint, and Ground Zero Blues Club, and in Atlanta at the world-renowned Blind Willie’s Blues Club.
For fans of blues, rock, and soul, Joey’s live shows are like church—an event you have to experience in person to fully appreciate. With blistering guitar solos, a powerful voice, and a tight band, Joey Houck always leaves it all on the stage.
