Birmingham, Alabama
Originally from San Diego, Snake and the Rabbit use the lessons they’ve learned on the road to create their unique blend of Americana music. Their music is heavily influenced by Psychedelic folk, American blues, Outlaw Country and lo-fi Rock. The result is a sound they call COWGIRL SURF. The band, husband and wife Brett and Leanna “Lee” Patterson, have been married since 2010 and playing as Snake and the Rabbit since 2020.
When live music stopped during the pandemic, Brett and Lee started performing weekly live streams on social media and gained a following. These live stream performances allowed the two musicians to hone their craft and perfect their sound. Now, they are known for intimate, engaging live performances where Lee’s haunting vocals are always the main attraction. It was also during the pandemic that the band started writing the songs that would eventually become the album, “Cowgirl Surf”.
Scott's Chris Stapleton'esq voice belts out tenor lines with ease over tasty grooves and melodies, but there's depths to the lyrics as well.
In and out of touring bands, record labels, and solo projects since he was fifteen, Scott has earned every accolade thrown his way. He is an award-winning songwriter, performer, and artist with three decades of proven work behind him and a lot left to give all of us to enjoy ... And it's only getting better.
Scott's music is soulful but homegrown and raw.
Out-of-the-box, but somehow familiar.
It's... Well, it's, "country music meets blue-eyed soul".
